Solstice

My original fibre art / textile art piece Solstice. It depicts the beautiful beach at Garrynamonie on the Isle of South Uist where I used to live. I’m sure it would bring a little bit of the beauty of the Outer Hebrides into any home.

It is handmade using a technique called laid fibre which is a more unique and unusual way of creating fibre art, it gives a softer more dreamlike feel to the painting. Laid fibre paintings are created by laying fibres to form a painting but not felting them or joining them in any way. The fibres are torn/cut as required. They can be laid over each other to create shading etc. in the same way as you would use paint. The painting is then placed under glass to hold all the fibres in place.
All my original artworks are complete one-offs, I never make the same artwork twice so you can be sure that if you are buying a piece as a gift for a loved one, a friend or treating yourself to some new art that you will be purchasing a completely one of a kind artwork.

The Artwork comes in a grey frame without glass measuring 22” x 14” and is ready to hang.

Due to the nature of this item please do not attempt to change the frame.
